Loan Marketplace (LMP) changes the way our clients offer credit services to their customers in order to provide better choice and automation.
A user’s information is pulled from their profile, such as daily usage, current loan, how often they topup, etc. This information is loaded into a database where it is used to create a three month snapshot of the user. A third-party system pulls this information and puts it through a rules-based engine to determine the user’s credit score. When a user accesses the USSD/Smart menu to apply for an immediate, short-term, low value loan, financial providers use this credit score to decide whether or not they will offer them a loan, as well as the terms of the loan.
