Troubleshooting basics

In any system issues are bound to arise, resulting in errors that impact user experience. Therefore, troubleshooting is an essential and ongoing part of the End User’s daily work. Monitoring events for any errors and investigating those errors maintains system integrity and ensures that the customer’s user experience is maintained. 

No matter what is causing the issue, troubleshooting will require a process of trial and error. In some cases, the End User will need to use several different approaches before finding a solution.

There are many iNSight Screens that you can use to assist you in your investigations – Backend Servers, Data History, Data Unprocessed, etc.

The troubleshooting process requires two main steps:

  • Identifying the issue – Involves verifying the issue, diagnosing the issue, researching the issue, and in some cases, escalating it to more senior team members. 
  • Performing the repair – Involves not only addressing the cause of the problem, but also verifying the fix and communicating it to the appropriate parties.
